7-Day Circuit Departure from Marrakech to Essaouira

      Day 1: Marrakech – Ouarzazate

Departure at 9:00 AM from your residence in Marrakech. Travel by 4×4 towards the south.
After crossing the El Haouz plain, the High Atlas Mountains appear, often
snow-capped. We then descend through Berber villages perched on the mountains
to Telouet, once home to a Pasha.
Lunch break in the old village followed by a guided tour of the Kasbah, a blend
of Berber and Andalusian architecture.
In the afternoon, continue through the Ounila Valley to the UNESCO World
Heritage site of the famous Ait Benhaddou ksar. Take a brief tour through the
village’s alleyways, rich with history and anecdotes. Arrive in Ouarzazate in
the late afternoon for dinner and overnight at a guesthouse.
       

Day 2: Ouarzazate – Skoura – Dades Valley

at 9:00 AM for a brief morning briefing, then head to the Skoura palm grove, 40
km from Ouarzazate. A lush oasis in the southern Atlas. Visit the 17th-century
Kasbah Amridil, then continue to Kelaat M’gouna, the source of the Mgoun River,
known for its rose production each May. Cross Berber villages and enjoy a
scenic track leading to nomadic caves for a tea break in the middle of nowhere.
Dinner and overnight at a local inn with traditional cuisine.

Day 3: Dades – Zagora– M’hamid

Leave the greenery of Dades for the arid landscapes further south. Cross the Tizi
N’Tzazert pass, a key route for nomadic transhumance, with a beautiful view of
the Mgoun from the summit. In the afternoon, reach the famous Drâa Valley to
M’hamid (gateway to the desert), with a stop to visit the village of Tamgroute
and its pottery artisans.
Dinner and overnight at a guesthouse.

Day 4: M’hamid – Sacred Oasis – Erg Chegaga 

Head towards the dunes! Leave the paved roadfor the Paris-Dakar tracks, crossing dunes and wild plateaus with diverse vegetation including acacias,
tamarisks, and calotropis. 
Picnic stop at the Sacred Oasis.  Arrive at the Erg Chegagadunes, set up camp, and enjoy a walk or camel ride to appreciate the silence and serenity of the desert. Dinner and overnight nomadic tents (with separate toilets and showers)

Day 5: Chegaga – Taliouine – Taroudante

Climb the dunes early in the morning for a stunning sunrise view over the Sahara.
After breakfast, continue on the tracks towards Foum Zguid, passing the dry
Iriki Lake. Circumvent the Bani chain to reach the road towards Taliouine, the
saffron capital. Lunch break, then continue to Taroudante, known as the “little
Marrakech.” Visit the souk and the city’s protective ramparts. Optionally,
enjoy a carriage ride in the evening.
Dinner and overnight at a Riad

Day 6: Taroudante – Agadir – Essaouira

Departure at 9:00 AM towards the Atlantic Ocean. From Agadir, follow the
coastal road with its stunning landscapes and fishing towns. Enjoy fresh
sardine tajine by the seaside at noon. If you’re a surfing enthusiast, a
surfing session in Taghazout is available (optional).
Arrive in Essaouira in the late afternoon for dinner and overnight at a Riad.

Day 7: Essaouira – Marrakech

Freemorning in Essaouira to explore or wander through the medina at your own pace.
Visit the old port and the fishermen’s workshops, also known as Mogador.
In the afternoon, meet with our driver for the return journey to Marrakech, and
transfer to your hotel
