4Days Circuit from Marrakech -zagora-marzouga

Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Benhaddou – Zagora

In the morning, meet with our guide/driver at 9 AM and head south. Traverse the El Haouz plain and the High Atlas mountain range to reach Ait Benhaddou, the famous fortified village dating back to the 18th century. Enjoy a guided tour of the Ksar by a local guide; some families still reside in the old village. Break for lunch to taste the local Berber cuisine.

In the early afternoon, continue towards Agdez, where the famous Draa Valley begins. This region, home to over a million date palms, is a vital source of life for thousands of families in southern Morocco. Arrive in Zagora by the end of the day, enjoy dinner and spend the night at a guesthouse/kasbah.

Day 2: Zagora – Rissani – Merzouga

After a hearty breakfast, head to the dunes of Merzouga, known for their stunning golden sands. The journey crosses vast Saharan spaces called “regs,” a paradise for shepherds and camel breeders. Stop for lunch in Rissani to enjoy a Berber pizza at the village market. In the afternoon, reach the Merzouga desert and meet the camel drivers for a 50-minute camel ride to the evening camp. Enjoy dinner and spend the night in a comfortable tent.

Day 3: Merzouga – Erfoud – Dadès

Watch the sunrise between the dunes of Erg Chebbi, a magical moment not to be missed, especially for photography enthusiasts! After breakfast at the camp, leave the desert in a 4×4 vehicle for Erfoud. If interested, visit a fossil workshop. The scenery changes from deserts to oases and valleys as you head towards the Todra Gorges. Take a walk through fields of alfalfa and palm trees. Arrive in Dadès by late afternoon for the night.

Day 4: Dadès – Skoura – Marrakech

The day starts with a beautiful stretch of track (20 km) through a stone canyon, with an opportunity to have tea with the last nomads of the region who still live in caves. Descend the Valley of Roses to visit a women’s cooperative that produces rose products. The landscape quickly changes to the Skoura palm grove, a true oasis at the foot of the Atlas Mountains. Visit the Amridil Kasbah, one of the oldest residences of the pasha in the south.

In the afternoon, continue towards Marrakech via the Tichka Pass. Arrive in the early evening and transfer to your riad/hotel.
